Job Description

Contract Land Staff is looking for an experienced Right of Way Coordinator for remote work in Texas. The Right-of-Way (ROW) Coordinator works under the direction of the Program Manager and is responsible for the development, tracking, and control of budgets, schedules, and reporting related to right-of-way and real estate acquisitions. This position supports the timely and compliant acquisition of land rights necessary for the construction, reconstruction, and operation of electric distribution facilities and substations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Develop and manage right-of-way and real estate acquisition budgets and schedules for Distribution projects.
  • Coordinate acquisition of land rights including easements for electric distribution lines and fee simple property acquisitions for substations.
  • Serve as lead for development and monitoring of quality control processes to ensure timely project execution.
  • Prepare and issue project reports including production status, earned value, schedule performance, cost performance, and risk indicators.
  • Prepare and issue portfolio-level reports summarizing overall project performance across multiple projects.
  • Monitor risks and support mitigation strategies related to right-of-way activities.
  • At times, act as a single point of contact for project control-related matters.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, land agents, engineering, and legal resources.
  • Support Program Manager with forecasting, data analysis, and performance reporting.

Qualification Requirements (minimum and preferred requirements): 

  • Must have 4+ years of experience in accounting and/or finance related field.
  • Must be willing to work remotely in Texas.
  • Must be technologically proficient.
  • Prior experience in the Right of Way Industry is preferred. 
  • Prior Electric Distribution experience is a plus!

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in an office or professional environment.
  • Experience in the Right-of-Way industry or public utility environment (electric Distribution preferred).
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Advanced experience using project scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar.
  • Advanced knowledge of project tracking related to budgeting and scheduling.
  • General real estate knowledge.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • IRWA Specialty certification required; lower-level certification may be acceptable with extensive relevant industry experience.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office-based with occasional field visits and travel as required.
