Job Description
Contract Land Staff is looking for Environmental Scientists for work in Las Vegas, NV on behalf of Keystone Consultants, LLC (a CLS Company). This position supports senior level engineering and environmental project managers on multiple projects. The Environmental Scientist supports environmental investigations and permitting projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct/assist in wetland/stream delineations.
- Technical writing, including preparing wetland/stream delineation reports.
- Conduct/assist in infiltration/soil evaluation field work.
- Data entry, data interpretation, and statistical evaluations.
- Prepare infiltration and soil evaluation reports.
- Participate in field visits as required by project needs.
- Conduct erosion and sediment compliance inspections and coordinate with contractors and clients to correct issues on site.
- Prepare PADEP Chapter 105 General Permits, Nationwide Permits, and Joint Permit applications.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies (PADEP, USACOE, USFWS, PAGC, PAFBC, PADCNR) and clients throughout the permitting process.
- Research potential habitat for endangered species.
- Characterization of aquatic and terrestrial habitats.
- Accurately completes daily timesheet.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science or other related discipline with 1-5 years’ experience.
- Familiarity with Trimble GPS Unit preferred.
- Demonstrated section 401/404 permitting through state and federal regulatory agencies and Endangered Species Act permitting experience required.
- Certification by a professional society or a state regulatory board in the discipline of practice desired, but not required. These certifications or registrations may include but are not limited to Professional Geologist, Professional Wetland Scientist, Certified Environmental Professional, or Certified Ecologist
- Valid Driver’s License.
Physical Demands and Work Conditions:
- Frequently required to walk over various terrains, long or short distances and through seasonal weather conditions.
